Team

Jorge Moraleda, PhD, CEO & Founder

Jorge Moraleda brings more than 20 years of experience in scientific and data analysis software design and development. He led the group that created the PathWork Tissue of Origin Test, the first gene expression based test cleared by the FDA for clinical use. More recently, Jorge led a team that used innovative artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to develop highly scalable image recognition and classification systems. Jorge is an Adjunct professor in Data Analytics at Northwestern University and an inventor in over 28 US Patents. He holds a BS and an MS from the University of Seville, an MS from École Centrale Paris and an MS and a PhD from Stanford University.

Marcelo J. Pando, PhD, D(ABHI), CSO & Founder

Marcelo Pando is the Histocompatibility Laboratory Director at the Transplant and Genomics Core at Baylor University Medical Center, Texas. Since starting his career in biology, he has focused on implementing new informatic tools to improve laboratory testing quality. Marcelo began his career in immunogenetics at the Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics Laboratory in Buenos Aires in 1991 where he completed his Ph.D. in HLA and population genetics. He has post-doctoral experience from Stanford University and UCSF. Marcelo has served as the Assistant Director of HLA Laboratories at Stanford University, Director at Mayo Clinic AZ, and consulting director at Gift of Hope, University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins. Additionally he has been a member of the ASHI Quality Assurance and Standard Committee and the UNOS Histocompatibility Committee.

Mac Belniak, Founder

In 2012, Mac’s mom received a lung transplant. Mac was driven to learn everything he could about transplants. He has, ever since, been seeking an opportunity to help improve healthcare outcomes for all. Mac brings over two decades of experience in the enterprise data science and machine learning software industry spanning, product management, user experience design, marketing, and sales. Mac holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern, an MS in Management Science from Stanford, a JD from the UIC John Marshall Law School, and is licensed to practice law in Illinois.

Yanying Chen, PhD, Founder

Yanying Chen has developed industry-leading software for understanding and mining data to improve business processes. She brings extensive experience modeling patient and healthcare-market data and knowledge of the associated regulatory and privacy requirements. Yanying is passionate about applying her data science and software development skills to empower health care providers to deliver better health care at lower cost. Yanying Chen holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she performed research in Information Theory and Machine Learning.
